A Brief Thread for Exotic Scales- primarily Japanese scales
I have been fumbling around with a handful of exotic scales. For this thread, I wanted to outline some Japanese scales such as the Hirajoshi, Kumoi, Iwato, etc
Some of these sound pretty sweet and out of the box when you play them (personally, I've been a sucker for using the Hirajoshi)
Feel free to experiment and have fun with these, and who knows-- maybe they can be of use and you can add them to your repertoire of guitar playing
(for this notation-- W= whole step, H= half step, 2= 2 whole steps)
W-H-2-H-2 ———————————Hirajoshi
H-2-H-2-W———————————-Iwato
2-H-2-W-H———————————-Kumoi
H-2-W-H-2———————————–Hon Kumoi Shiouzhi
2-W-H-2-H———————————-Chinese ,Raga Amritavarsini
